I used to be a road trip fool.  I’ve driven in all the lower 48… I’ve done all of I-70, I-80, I-90, and I-65…  My personal mark is 26-hours straight (I know, you still have me beat Ian).

But with age and responsibility, I don’t have the time and my body can’t take such long stretches behind the wheel.  I did Indy to Colorado last winter in one stretch, and it damn near destroyed me.

There’s always been this haze I’m in when I stop after a few hours driving.  If I had to guess, it’s some weird coming down from an extended time of visual concentration.

This week, I connected the same type of symptoms to some of my work duties.  Most specifically, filming video.

I’m in the midst of a month where video (which is 1/3 of my job description) is being moved up to be about 70-80% of what I do for a short time.  Going through longer filming stretches feel so tiring.  I know next week is going to flat out suck.

The week after that, it’ll be time for some editing marathons.  Ugh.

I gotta get out and do something overtly strenuous in the next few days just to try and reset my mind and body.
