Fight the Fight

That’s right, three posts in a day… It’s all because I’m pretty excited for the first time about the reunion of a classic band… Sting has affirmed reports in the press that there may be a Police reunion within this calendar year.

I’ve said it to friends, and I’ll say it here – this is one of the few bands that I’d pay hundreds of dollars for a ticket to see live. Not the Stones, not Fleetwood Mac, not Genesis, not even Page and Plant (maybe if they threw John Paul Jones into the mix)… I would have paid a pretty penny to see Cream, but that was such a small reunion. There is no band all members alive that I want to see as much as The Police.

While The Police is considered “New Wave” by many, it was one of the few bands in the late 70′s – early 80′s that has endured with such a mystique. Probably because they quit at their peak and weren’t given the chance to change their sound to meet changing times like so many other bands. The band had a lot of influence on me while I was a musician, and Synchronicity is easily in my top 5 albums of all time.

So I hope they come around here, because I’ll shell it out to see one of the best trio’s of all time play again.
