Still pretty upset from yesterday, but I just read something that angers me enough to write about it here…

Our Secretary of defense, Donald Rumsfeld, made a pointed comment to the national convention of the American Legion. I’ll quote the article on CNN:

In unusually explicit terms, Rumsfeld portrayed the administration’s critics as suffering from “moral and intellectual confusion” about what threatens the nation’s security.

By simply saying that a group criticizing your boss is confused about their intellect or morality is a nice way of not addressing the merit their criticism may or may not hold.

I say to you Donald Rumsfeld, face your critics and prove the validity of your holier than thou position. No one is debating your point that terrorism should be confronted. However, should the confrontation merely show our quick forceful response without malice of forethought? Or should the forceful response be such that the rest of the world respects how we are going about confronting those terrorists?

Spin away Washington. I’ll continue my right to question what my government does in the name of myself and countless others without access to information, education, or even evacuation.

Then I’m probably morally and intellectually confused by the standards of some.
