So I just finished Deadwood seasons 1 and 2 last week. So now am I not only have I exponentially increased my knowledge of vulgar expression, but I also have an increasing appreciation for HBO to come up with quality programming.

I don’t have HBO, and I’ve only paid for it a short time many years ago. For the most part I get to enjoy its programming thanks to promotional offers/weekends and DVD’s via Netflix. I loved the first seasons of the Sopranos, Six Feet Under, and Entourage, and The Wire. Deadwood continued the ability for HBO to produce engaging programming in a time of increasing spin-offs and overly stretching creativity farther than the presidents ability to bring this nation together. I did catch the first two episodes of Big Love, and it has potential solely based on the case, but I can’t judge that until I see more (when the DVD’s are released).

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I realize how good HBO actually is. I really like a lot of their documentaries like “Do You Believe in Miracles“. They have also produced great original movies like “61” and “The Life & Death of Peter Sellers“. Even their reality shows like “Unscripted” and “Taxicab Confessions” entertain better than another survivor. The two undeniable feats for HBO have been the “From the Earth to the Moon” and “Band of Brothers” (honerable mention to “Angles in America“). Other series’ such as “OZ“, “Curb Your Enthusiasm“, and “Tales from the Crypt” produced a loyal fan base despite not being among my favorites.

Maybe one day I’ll re-subscribe. I just hate it when I pay for it and they play “Dunston Checks In” 3 times a day for weeks.

So I just received the first two disks of season 2 of Entourage. I love supporting ex-New Kids in their current ventures…
