In the end, it all came together. There were last minute decisions and minor complications, but they were minor and everything was wonderful… That is with the exception of the painful shoes both of us chose. The ceremony itself was absolutely wonderful.
The reception was also great all around. The food and wine were divine, and everyone seemed to have a great time as well. We did miss some genuine friends, but we knew their best wishes were with us.
The honeymoon started on a Monday and ended on a Thursday. Half in Newport (RI), and half in NYC. Newport is beautiful in a summer playground for the wealthy kind-of-way. NYC is very awesome in the size and scope of everything. Both places made me feel that if I worked for 25 years and saved my entire salary that I’d still be considered poor. It doesn’t bother me, because I know that both places are not indicative of the real world for most.
So I’ll stop rambling. Regardless of my impressions, everything for the past two weeks has been so wonderful. It’ll always bring a smile to my face for so many reasons.

diggity! Newport ain’t all that. Half of the schmucks who built all of that crazy expensive stuff couldn’t afford it soon after they built it. It’s kinda like blight for the wealthy … or something. As the good people at the National Parks Service note, “Devoted at first to amassing large sums, the new millionaires eventually found that money was no longer enough.”
I found this Newport related site that you might find interesting.
