I made the drive in the record time of 17 hours and 45 minutes from Indianapolis to Pemaquid. Yes, I did break the sped limit, but only by an average of 7-8 mph during70% of the trip (the other 30% were much slower than the speed limit). And yeah, I’ve been through enough rain to make me consider a hovercraft as my next vehicle. I attribute my speedy trek to three things.

  1. The tdi: 40-45 mpg goes a long way with a 14 gallon tank
  2. Vic’s I-PASS – works as an EZ-PASS, hell yeah
  3. The never ending bladder – explains itself

I rolled in to Pemaquid sometime around 1:45 am this morning, and got a good 6 hours of sleep. Things didn’t fully click until after 3 cups of coffee this morning. My grandparents and I went to have breakfast at a very small local diner that I love and haven’t had the chance to go to in about 5 years. A very working-man’s type place, but it’s a place that sticks with you because it’s borderline seedy, yet very good.

Now I’m waiting for a phone call to meet my mother in before going on to Rockland to fully unload the cah (they pronounce car differently out here).
